Luxembourg's highly experienced foreign minister Jean Asselborn tells the Parliament Magazine about his plans to ensure the EU becomes a respected global player. "The European Union's current foreign policy situation is a very challenging one," he says. Asselborn highlights the need for strong relations between the EU's institutions, stressing, "We believe that we can only strengthen the EU's presence on the global stage if cooperation between the European commission, parliament and presidency is excellent."
Carole Dieschbourg, Luxembourg's environment minister, explains that Europe must show strong leadership in the build-up to December's COP 21 talks. "It is my aim," she says, "to elaborate a strong mandate for the climate summit in Paris."
