European Parliament

MEPs
Róża von Thun und Hohenstein (RE, PL) has left the European People’s Party and has joined Renew Europe. She has also joined Poland 2050 after leaving Civic Platform earlier in the year.

Committees and Delegations

Members
Karolin Braunsberger-Reinhold (EPP, DE) joins the Transport and Tourism Committee (TRAN), Delegation for relations with the People's Republic of China (D-CN) and the Delegation for relations with the countries of Southeast Asia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Vincenzo Sofo (ECR, IT) joins the Delegation for relations with Afghanistan (D-AF) while Ryszard Antoni Legutko (ECR, PL) leaves.

Substitutes
Vlad-Marius Botoş (RE, RO) joins the Culture and Education Committee (CULT) and the Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee (IMCO).
Sophia in 't Veld (RE, NL) leaves the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Committee (ENVI).
Andrius Kubilius (EPP, LT) and Georgios Kyrtsos (EPP, GR) leave the Foreign Interference in all Democratic Processes in the European Union, including Disinformation Special Committee (INGE) while Eugen Tomac (EPP, RO) and Tomáš Zdechovský (EPP, CZ) re-join the committee after leaving it at the end of last month.

European Commission

Communications Networks, Content and Technology (CONNECT)
Lars Erik Forsberg replaces David Ringrose as Head of Unit D3 (Policy Outreach and International Affairs) in an acting capacity.

European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF)
Antonio Miceli replaces Margarete Hofmann as Director of Directorate A (Expenditure Operations and Investigations) in an acting capacity.
Maria Carmen Glaria Santafe is no longer the Adviser for General Affairs.

Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (NEAR)
Mathieu Bousquet is the new acting Director of Directorate A (Thematic Support, Coordination of Policy and Financial Instruments). He is also the Head of Unit A3 (Thematic Support – An Economy that Works for People, Green, Digital and Connected).
Diana Jablonska takes over Bousquet’s previous position as Head of Unit C1 (Georgia, Moldova, Economic Investment Plan). Francisco Lopez Menchero replaces Jablonska’s position as Head of Unit C3 (Institution Building, TAIEX, Twinning) in an acting capacity.
David Cullen replaces Vassilis Maragos as Head of Unit C2 (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus and Eastern Partnership Coordination). Maragos takes over Cullen’s previous position as Head of Unit D4 (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo).
Ute Koch replaces Maria Farrar-Hockley as Head of Unit R5 (Contracts and Finance Enlargement) in an acting capacity.

National News

Czech Republic
Andrej Babis, Prime Minister, has agreed to resign after being defeated by the opposition in the elections last month. Petr Fiala, head of the three-party coalition, (Civic Democratic Party, Christian Democrats, TOP 09 party) is leading negotiations to form a new government.

Sweden
Stefan Löfven has officially resigned as Prime Minister. Magdalena Andersson, Minister of Finance, has now been given the task of forming a new government and winning votes as she replaced Löfven as leader of the Social Democrats last week.
