Flavio ZANONATO (S&D, IT) left the Committee on Budgets (BUDG) and joined the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL).
Mercedes BRESSO (S&D, IT) left the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) and joined the Committee on Budgets (BUDG).
Remo SERNAGIOTTO (ECR, IT) joined the Committee on Regional Development (REGI), the Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean (D-MED) and the Delegation for relations with the Maghreb countries and the Arab Maghreb Union (D-MAG).

Eurostat (ESTAT): Directorate G - Global Business Statistics: Merja RANTALA is the new Head of Business Statistics - Coordination and Registers Unit, replacing Petra SNEIJERS.
Joint Research Centre (JRC) – Directorate I Institute for Health and Consumer Protection: Birgit SOKULL-KLUETTGEN is the new acting Head of Nanobiosciences Unit, replacing Hermann STAMM.
New: Commission announced future setup of a Group on ethics, following the end of the mandate of the current European Group on Ethics in Science and New Technologies (EGE) in January 2016. The Group will report to the President of the Commission and to the College of the Commissioners as a whole and will be under the direct responsibility of Commissioner MOEDAS.

News in a nutshell:
Portugal: Coalition talks have been inconclusive so far between the ruling centre-right party and the Socialists. President Anibal CAVACO SILVA, Social Democratic Party (EPP) will meet the leaders of the main political parties for consultations on forming a new government and nominate the new Prime Minister on 20 October. In the meantime, Antonia COSTA, Socialist Party (S&D) is in negotiations with two left-wing parties (Left Bloc (GUE/NGL) and the Portuguese Communist Party (GUE/NGL)) to form a possible majority government.
